The High School Book Tag
The wonderful Charlotte Annelise tagged me in this super fun book tag. Thank you, Charlotte! I write books about high school aged characters and sometimes I forget that it’s been WAAAAAY too long since I’ve been in high school. But that doesn’t deter me from falling in love with High School stories. So, here are Best of High School Superlatives.

A+ on the test: A book or character that makes you smile?
This book makes me smile when I say its name, when I look at it, and when I think of the main character, Marianne. I just finished the book for the 8th time last week and I am going to a meet and greet with the author today, so yes, this book makes me smile and deserves the A+
Sports team: A fictional family that you want to be a part of?
Charlotte (Charlie) Reynolds comes from a family with brothers, she plays soccer, and her brothers are all super athletic. They get up on Saturdays just to play a pick up game of soccer. I’d love to be a part of this family. And be surrounded by all those boys. I always wanted an older brother so that I could have flirted with all his friends, haha.
Class President: A book that tries to make a difference?
I thought about this and scrolled through my list of read books trying to think of a different angle for this question… and I came up with Illuminae. I think this book tries to make a difference by showing us what can happen with Artificial Intelligence turns into an actual intelligent being. And then in proposes the question: What is the moral thing to do? I won’t expound because it wold have spoilers but if you haven’t read this book I HIGHLY recommend it. Just read it right now. You won’t be sorry.
High School Sweetheart: A book character you have a crush on?
Voldermort… Charlotte? Really? Haha, I love that.
Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
Will Herondale is my High School Sweetheart. I love him, and have loved him since June 2013 when I first met him, and I have never met anyone since that I love more. There have been many crushes (shhh, don’t tell) but Will holds my heart.
Prom Night: A book with a beautiful cover?
I bought this book solely based on the cover. The title is cute too but I LOVED the cover. So, it wins The Prom Night Award.
Spring Break: A book you can always turn to when you need an escape?
Ok, so Charlotte picked a genre as her Spring Break Escape and I think I would too. Mine would be anything Romance. I even go to some adult sweet romance when I need a real escape, but it’s usually YA. I picked Not in the Script as my favorite of the favorites.
School Lunch: A book character(s) you want to have lunch with?
I’d Tell You But Then I’d Have to Kill You by Ally Carter
I would love to have lunch with Cammie Morgan from I’d Tell You… She goes to Gallagher Academy which is a SPY school. How awesome is that. Who hasn’t wished at one point that they were cool enough to be a spy?
Halloween Party: A character you would like to be for one day?
I got sorted into Ravenclaw on Pottermore so I’m not quite as fearless as Hermione so I’d love to be her for one day. Add magic and attitude. What more could I want?
School Bully: A villain you don’t want to go to school with?
Ok, there’s not a huge single villain in this book, BUT Lacey has to face the online critics. I would be lying if I said that other opinions don’t matter. But when I have a book out, I want to be able to ignore the critics. I would not want to go to school with them. They are never kind.
Graduation: A book with a bittersweet conclusion?
This can only be called a tragic bittersweet ending. The sweet part comes from the one happy ending, but sooooo many people died… in real life! Definitely bittersweet.
