Go Buy a Book
It’s that time of month again when I tell you which books you need to go buy. Last month, I listed three really good books… and I didn’t go buy any of them. *sigh* I will read them EVENTUALLY. But I’ve got so many others to read right now that I’m trying to get through some before I buy more. (hahah, ya right.)
But, JUNE is here and that brings summer and summer brings fun romantic stories. So, this month is Go Buy a Book, Romance Edition.
by RaeAnne Thayne
Genre: Adult Romance
Release Date: June 27th
Synopsis: Computer-tech millionaire Bowie Callahan is about the last person that schoolteacher Katrina Bailey wants to work for. As far as she can see, he’s arrogant, entitled and not up to the task of caring for his young half brother, Milo. But Kat is, especially if it brings her closer to her goal of adopting an orphaned little girl. And as her kindness and patience work wonders with Milo, she realizes there’s more to sexy, wary Bo than she’d ever realized.
Bo never imagined he’d be tasked with caring for a sibling he didn’t know existed. Then again, he never pictured himself impulsively kissing vibrant, compassionate Katrina in the moonlight. Now he’s ready to make her dream of family come true…and hoping there’s room in it for him, too… (Goodreads)
WHY YOU NEED THIS BOOK: RaeAnne Thayne writes clean contemporary romance for the adult genre. I’ve read a few of her books and they are deliciously perfect. Her characters are flawed, and jilted, and you are fairly certain they will never end up together. But they do and its perfect.
by Sarah Eden
Genre: Historical Romance
Release Date: June 21st
Synopsis: As her first London Season looms before her, the thought of the impending social whirl fills Daphne Lancaster’s timid heart with dread. She hasn’t her sisters beauty nor their talent for conversing easily. Even her family’s enviable connections may not be enough to prevent disaster.
But Daphne’s misery turns to surprised delight when the first event of her Season brings an unexpected visitor to her door—James Tilburn, whose tender kindness stole her heart in her youth. When the handsome young gentleman expresses his desire to court her, Daphne is elated. Their feelings for each other quickly grow, and it appears that, much to Daphne s disbelief, her happily ever after is within reach.
Yet nothing is as it seems. The couple finds themselves caught in a tangled web of greed and deceit, leaving James and Daphne to determine whether they are willing to risk everything for true love. (goodreads)
WHY YOU NEED THIS BOOK: I have read a few Sarah Eden books and not loved them. But I have it on good authority that she no longer beats her characters to death before they find happiness (haha, yes, it’s been pretty awful in the past). So, even though I haven’t read the book yet, I have faith that it will be a fun, historical romance, that leaves you feeling happy.
Her Surprise Engagement
by Ashlee Mallory
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 19th
Synopsis: Single mom Daisy Sorensen doesn’t believe in fairytale endings—at least not for her. All she wants is to enjoy a much-needed, stress-free family vacation at a friend’s Lake Tahoe home. So of course everything that can go wrong does. Including a gorgeous man and his daughter showing up in the middle of the night.
Soon-to-be Governor Jack Harrison has had a crazy week, but he’s sure nothing can top arriving to find a bathrobe-clad, beautiful stranger in the home he’s staying in for the week. He’s wrong. When things spiral out of control the next morning, Jack makes Daisy an offer she can’t refuse. She’ll pretend to be his fiancée and he’ll help her open the bakery she’s been dreaming about.
But in between late-night campfires and days on the lake, Jack finds himself falling for the strong, stubborn woman for real. (Goodreads)
WHY YOU NEED THIS BOOK: I read Ashlee Mallory’s Her Backup Boyfriend and it was so cute that I fell in love with her as an author. This book is part of the Sorensen Family series but they are all stand alone books as well. So you don’t need to read the others before you get to this one.
I know there are a billion books coming out this month. Which are you most excited to buy?
