Go Buy a Book: August 2017
So apparently if I click enter after typing in a post title, it publishes the post. Sorry to everyone who received an empty email.
Quick update, before I tell you to Go Buy a Book… I have finished moving. BUT not unpacking. My house is still in boxes. BECAUSE I just submitted my latest manuscript to the #pitchwars contest. SO I spent as much time as possible finalizing my query and synopsis this week. You can read my #PitchWars bio HERE. I feel like I have a moment to breathe again… but only a moment, before I start writing again. I’m hoping to sit with a book in my hands and read for a while.
But for now, I’m going to tell you to go read.
Go Buy a Book- Contemporary Romance Edition
I have had the HARDEST time not buying every book right now. I have this itch that makes me need to buy them all. But it’s an even stronger itch when it comes to contemporary romance. I have a huge soft spot for these stories and I’m usually never let down. I have caved and bought a few, because, well, I’m obviously going to read them.
With out further ado:
Lucky in Love by Kasie West
Anything by Kasie West will be amazing. I bought this book and hope to read it this month. But just look at the cover. It’s adorable.

Wesley James Ruined my Life by Jennifer Honeybourn
Ok, first, that cover. I frequently buy books based on their cover and title. And this one screams adorable. Then the first part of the synopsis sealed the deal:
Coworker, childhood friend, and worst enemy: the changing dynamics of friendship (and maybe…relationship?) are front and center in this charming debut novel with equal amounts of wit and heart
I bought the book right away. Again, I hope to read it soon. But my August TBR pile is about 10 books right now and if made it through half of those it would be a miracle.
So YOU should read it for me. Check out the book HERE.
Kissing Max Holden by Katy Upperman
I first heard about this book over a year ago… maybe two, when swoonreads picked it as a book to publish. And I have followed it since. I’m not going to lie, this book looks full of angsty, perfect, romance.
Equal parts swoonworthy romance and deeply affecting family drama, this debut novel about the boy next door turned super hot bad boy will have readers hooked from the very first kiss.
Not quite the fluffy, contemporary romance. But knowing the publisher, it should still be clean/mild heat level.

Just Friends by Tiffany Pitcock
Any book with a title Just Friends will instantly catch my attention. I love the Friends to Lovers trope. It might be one of my favorites. Also, I LOVE stories built on a lie. They think they can get away with a fake identity, or some sort of made up persona/life and it comes back to bite them every time. Haha. But I still love reading it.
A new spin on the classic smart-girl-and-bad-boy setup, this witty contemporary romance shows how easily a friendship – even one built on an elaborate lie – can become so much more

Along with many other new releases, these are my favorite picks. What are you hoping to read this month?
