Bookishly Ever After
by Isabel Bandiera
Genre: YA, Contemporary, Romance (Sweet)
Paperback: 378 pages
My Rating: 4/5 stars (Rating system)
Synopsis: In a perfect world, sixteen-year-old Phoebe Martins’ life would be a book. Preferably a YA novel with magic and a hot paranormal love interest. Unfortunately, her life probably wouldn’t even qualify for a quiet contemporary.
But when Phoebe finds out that Dev, the hottest guy in the clarinet section, might actually have a crush on her, she turns to her favorite books for advice. Phoebe overhauls her personality to become as awesome as her favorite heroines and win Dev’s heart. But if her plan fails, can she go back to her happy world of fictional boys after falling for the real thing? (goodreads)
This book is adorable. Let me just get that off my chest. You really should just buy the book and read it. Phoebe is every one of us book nerds who feel more comfortable with a book in our hands than talking to actual people. I totally related. She is into fantasy type books, which aren’t really my thing, but it made me think of the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas and how totally awesome Celaena is.
When Phoebe’s friend tells her that a guy might be into Pheobe, what does she do? Try to be the characters! It’s perfect. She writes her favorite scenes into a notebook and memorizes how the characters move, what they say, and how they act. And then she uses that info when she hangs out with this guy.
But of course, the best moments, are the Phoebe moments. Like the socks. When you get there, you’ll know what I’m talking about. *sighs at the adorableness*
The reason I didn’t give it 4.5 or 5 stars… well it lagged just a bit in the middle. I mean, I like to cheer for my romances the whole way through the book and the author kinda takes that away from you for a chunk of pages. I missed Phoebe and Dev.
So, yes, its adorable. Yes, you need to read it. and No, you won’t be disappointed.

Also, I made a PRINTABLE to go along with this book. It’s a quote I liked. If you’d like to download it for free, click below to download the 8×10 No Damsel in Distress Printable.
